Websites and downloads to avoid

Over the years i've found several types of websites that are illegitamate as well as programs

First off NEVER download anything that in the discription states "Scanned by windows antivirus" this is actually a Virus, one which complety screws up your machine; the only way to recover from said virus is to reformat (which can be difficult to achieve since the virus revokes admisitrator access and stuff)

I probably don't have to state this, but websites that "Sell" game cash are most frequently Phishing websites (Phishing being the term for acquiring personal information via the internet) Phishing isn't just credit cards, it can be email, game accounts, even your IP adress, which can be tracked down to your house.

the easiest way to determine whether or not a site/program is legitimate is to follow these steps

1. In order to sign up you don't have to enter any personal information
2. The download is NOT a hack, cheat, or illegitimate program (these often contain viruses)
3. The download is certified by a recognized source (Microsoft, Adobe, Sun Microsystems, etc.)
4. No payment is required in order to sign up or download
5. Lastly avoid "Spoof" programs (if it looks like something isn't right, chances are you're correct)
